The gig economy has drastically transformed modern labor markets because of the provision of flexible employment options at the same time evoking questions about job security, employee well-being, and sustainability of the workforce. The aim of this study is to explore the relationships between job security, employee well-being, and workforce resilience to determine factors that affect the sustainable employment within the framework of platform-based work. For this purpose, a quantitative, cross-sectional research design has been applied. The primary data have been collected by means of an online survey distributed among gig workers of multiple digital platforms. A sample of 352 responses was used in IBM SPSS Statistics. The validity and reliability of the instrument have been tested using Cronbach's alpha and exploratory factor analysis. Pearson correlation and multiple regression have been conducted to test the hypotheses. The results show that there are significant positive correlations between job security, employee well-being, and workforce resilience. Employee well-being turned out to be the most important determinant of workforce resilience, followed by job security. Thus, in order to ensure sustainable employment, one should take into account not only labor market flexibility but also economic and psychological well-being of employees. In addition, the study reveals that such factors as transparency of platform governance, fair employment and social protection significantly increase the level of workforce resilience.
