Abstract

This paper investigates the role of cross-functional leadership in driving successful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Human Capital Management (HCM) system implementations during digital transformation initiatives. Digital transformation requires an integrated approach, where leaders coordinate across functions to align strategies and foster an adaptive culture. Utilizing a mixed-method approach that includes quantitative data analysis and case studies, this study analyzes how cross-functional teams contribute to better ERP and HCM project outcomes, such as on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and user adoption. Findings suggest that cross-functional leadership, characterized by collaborative, adaptable, and strategic skills, is a critical factor in overcoming project challenges and achieving implementation success. Organizations pursuing digital transformation should prioritize building cross-functional teams with strong leadership to maximize ERP and HCM benefits.
